Road repair prompts joy
Yussuf Maleli, Kibwezi, Kenya, 17 February 2010
Roads that had been badly damaged by recent rains in the Kibwezi district, eastern Kenya, are being repaired to facilitate once again movement of people and goods. This move by the government has prompted the satisfaction of local residents.
‘We urge the government to repair the roads properly because they are useful in ferrying our farm products to the market’, says Mr. Peter Musyoka, a father of three from Riverside village in Mtito andei. Kenya witnessed an unusually long dry season later last year, which was followed earlier this year by an equally exceptional rainy season.
